What is hypertext and what does it have to do with writing?
Hypertext, in reference to Haas’ article, is a term that refers to the creation of a structure of elements and their presentation in interaction with the reader. In regards to writing, a hypertext demonstrates the ability of a piece of writing to communicate/interact between writers and readers. A hypertext refers to interactive content, and writing can be interactive both visually and orally. With the case of readers of Wampum belts, interactiveness is achieved from the content and media types between the designers and presenters of wampum beads.
